“Love (Or Not!) Week” wouldn’t be quite the same without an entry from Queen. The swinging, gospel-based “Somebody To Love” is a vocal tour de force that, despite sounding like it used a full choir, used just the voices of Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, and Brian May in multiple recorded layers. The song was released on Queen’s 1976 album, A Day at the Races, and it reached #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 that year.
It was covered brilliantly by George Michael in 1992 at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, and you owe it to yourself to give that version a listen.
Here, however, is the original.
